A SunSource configuration is expandable, and Lennox has worked at making it an uncomplicated and streamlined as possible.
Certain air conditioners and heat pumps from the signature line of Lennox systems - The Dave Lennox Signature® Collection
- can be used with the SunSource system via a simple modification from Lennox.
Energy Star® Approved
SunSource air conditioners and heating pumps, that can be installed by your air conditioning contractor, meet or exceed EPA guidelines for energy efficiency. When combined with the solar energy modules of the SunSource system, they can reduce heating and cooling bills by up to half!
A SunSource installation can consist of one to 15 solar modules. Your air conditioning contractor can begin the installation with just one, and upgrade laster as needed. The modules are the actual solar panels that convert sun rays into usable electricity.
The Monitoring Module
It uses your Internet connection to send performance information for each solar module to a 3rd party website where you can login 24x7 and view stats on your SunSource system including real time data on energy production, carbon offsets and other environmental benefits. At this time, Lennox provides the monitoring service free for five years.
Federal Tax Credits
Federal HVAC Credit (25C) offers a tax credit of up to $300 for the solar-ready heat pump or air conditioner that's at the heart of the SunSource system.
The federal solar credit (25D) equals 30% of the cost—with no upper limit—of the SunSource solar modules, including installation costs. It also covers 9% of the total cost of the solar-ready products. By installing a solar-ready outdoor unit (air conditioner or heat pump) and attaching at least one solar module, the solar-ready outdoor unit will qualify for both the solar and HVAC tax credits.
Consult a qualified tax professional for complete details. All federal solar tax credits are available through 2016. You can also learn more in the "Tax Credits for Energy Efficiency" section at www.energystar.gov.
