What really makes a ductless air conditioning and heating system different than a normal split system is the indoor air handler. Well, at least this is the apparent difference for homeowners. As you may know, a ductless mini-split system locates equipment both inside and outside the home as does a traditional, full-sized split system. However, the indoor air handler of a ductless system is small and takes on many shapes and sizes.
In the summer, the outdoor ductless air conditioner or heat pump compresses refrigerant, which dissipates heat energy into the air and chills the refrigerant. The cold fluid is then pumped inside to the indoor coil, which in this case is contained in the small ductless air handler. A quiet fan motor in the unit pulls air from the room, filters it and then forces it through the chilled coil.
As mentioned above, ductless air handlers come in a variety of styles. From wall-mounted, to floor standing to ceiling recessed. These mini-split systems are highly customizable to meet any demand. They pack ultra-quiet operation and extremely high efficiency ratings.
Twinning is an option for conditioning more than one living area in your home or office with a ductless mini-split system. Like Mitsubishi systems, the Fujitsu Halcyon system locates the noisy compressor and condenser outside the house. Halcyon systems eliminate the need for a basement, or attic-located evaporator unit and bulky ductwork by using thin copper tubing that pumps refrigerant directly to discreet wall mounted blowers inside. This same unit works in reverse in winter, absorbing heat from the outside air and using it to heat your home.
Ceiling cassettes are perfect when wall space is limited. The Swirl Wind feature provides four-way controlled louvers and fan speeds to distribute air evenly. where you need it most. These ductless air handlers are designed to bring cool comfort to larger spaces. Ideal for restaurants, hotels or offices, they are designed to distribute air more evenly and naturally throughout the room with high-intensity Jet Cool fan technology.

The Mitsubishi i-see sensor sweeps from side-to-side from the wall or ceiling mounted air handlers. It monitors the floor temperature covering a wide area spanning up to 150°! Typical ductless systems monitor the air temperature at the top of a room, but fail to consider the floor temperature. With the Mitsubishi i-see sensor, your system takes this into account, creating a more ideal climate throughout the room.
Mitsubishi offers outdoor units that can serve multiple indoor air handlers for providing comfort in more than one room.
